About

Why Silflay exists

We created Silflay because the regular supermarket shop is rarely just a list of things to buy. It starts with deciding what everyone is willing to eat, checking what is already planned, working out ingredients, choosing sensible products, watching prices, and finally getting the supermarket basket ready.

There are already plenty of apps for recipes, meal planning, and managing shopping lists. What felt missing was a product that joined the whole process together.

Silflay is designed to do that.

It helps you plan meals around your real shopping routine, whether you order weekly, several times a week, every few weeks, or on a more flexible schedule. You can add recipes, create your own regular meals, or include simple product-based meals for the nights when convenience matters.

For families and households, Silflay also recognises that meal planning works better when everyone is involved. Family members can vote on meal options, making it easier to choose meals that people are actually happy to eat.

From there, Silflay turns the plan into a supermarket shop. It combines ingredients across meals, works out sensible quantities, considers pack sizes and shelf life, and chooses product picks for the basket. The aim is not to give you another list to manage, but to get most of the shop ready for a quick review before checkout.

Silflay also helps users shop more deliberately. It can compare prices and offers across products, including the cost of the whole basket across supermarkets. Where available, Silflay can also classify products using the NOVA food classification system, helping users spot more processed options and make more informed choices.

Our aim is simple: to take the repetitive work out of meal planning and supermarket shopping, so the whole process feels calmer and much easier.
