Silflay Terms of Use
Effective: 29 April 2026
These Terms of Use apply to the Silflay mobile apps, website and related services (the "Services").
Silflay is currently in pre-release testing. Features may change, be incomplete, or be removed as the service develops.
By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these terms.
1) Who we are
Silflay is operated by Silflay Ltd.
Silflay Ltd is registered in England and Wales under company number 17091581. Our registered office is 3rd Floor, 86-90 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NE, United Kingdom. You can contact us at [email protected].
2) What Silflay does
Silflay helps users plan meals, organise recipes and user-defined meals, create shopping lists, review supermarket product choices, compare prices and prepare supermarket baskets.
Silflay may suggest, rank or compare products using recipe information, supermarket product data, price data, product preferences, nutrition information and other signals.
Silflay is a planning and shopping assistance tool. It does not sell supermarket products itself, and it does not complete supermarket checkout or payment.
3) Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create a Silflay account or use the Silflay app.
You may use Silflay only for personal or household purposes, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for the activity that takes place through your account.
You must provide accurate account information and must not allow someone else to use your account.
If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at [email protected].
4) Pre-release testing
Silflay is currently in pre-release testing. Some features may be experimental, incomplete or unavailable.
We may add, change, suspend or remove features at any time as we improve the service.
We will try to avoid unnecessary disruption, but we do not guarantee that any particular feature will always be available.
5) Supermarket integrations
Silflay may allow you to connect to supermarket websites or apps so that the app can read basket information, prepare basket updates or add products to your supermarket basket.
Where this is supported, you log in through the supermarket's own login page. Silflay does not collect or store your supermarket username or password.
Supermarket authentication tokens, cookies or similar session information may be stored securely on your device so that the app can make supermarket requests on your behalf. These tokens are not transmitted to Silflay's server.
You are responsible for complying with the terms and policies of any supermarket account you connect.
Silflay is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Ocado, Sainsbury's, Tesco, Asda, Waitrose, Morrisons or any other supermarket unless we explicitly say otherwise.
6) Supermarket prices, availability and baskets
Supermarket prices, offers, availability, product information, delivery slots, substitutions and basket contents can change at any time.
Silflay may display, compare, classify or act on supermarket data, but we do not guarantee that this data is complete, accurate or up to date.
You are responsible for checking your supermarket basket before checkout.
Checkout and payment take place through the supermarket's own website or app. The supermarket is responsible for the order, payment, delivery, substitutions, refunds and customer service relating to supermarket purchases.
7) Nutrition, dietary and allergy information
Silflay may use nutrition, ingredient, dietary, product label or category information to help order, filter or compare products.
This information may come from supermarkets, recipe sources, third-party data or Silflay's own classification systems. It may be incomplete, inaccurate or out of date.
Silflay is not a medical, nutrition, allergy or dietary safety service.
You must not rely on Silflay for allergy, intolerance, medical, religious, dietary or nutritional safety decisions. Always check the supermarket, manufacturer and product packaging information before buying or consuming a product.
8) Subscriptions, trials and payment
Silflay may offer paid subscriptions through Apple App Store or Google Play in-app purchases.
Subscription options may include monthly and annual plans. We may also offer a free trial. Trial length, price and availability may change.
Subscription billing is handled by Apple or Google. We do not collect or store your payment card details.
You are responsible for reviewing the subscription terms, price, renewal date and trial details shown by Apple or Google before confirming a purchase.
9) Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel an app store subscription through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.
Deleting the Silflay app or deleting your Silflay account may not automatically cancel an app store subscription. You should cancel the subscription through the relevant app store account.
Refunds are normally handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
10) User content
You may enter information into Silflay, such as shopping list text, meal plans, user-defined meals, preferences and, in future, recipe text.
You are responsible for the information you enter.
You must not upload or enter anything unlawful, harmful, abusive, misleading, infringing, or intended to misuse or disrupt the service.
You give Silflay permission to use the information you provide as needed to operate, maintain and improve the Services and provide features to you.
11) Acceptable use
You must not:
- use Silflay for unlawful purposes;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to Silflay or related systems;
- interfere with the security, stability or performance of the Services;
- scrape, copy or extract data from Silflay except as allowed by normal app use;
- reverse engineer the app or service except where legally permitted;
- use Silflay to operate a competing product or commercial data service;
- misuse supermarket integrations;
- attempt to bypass subscription, entitlement, usage or security controls.
12) Availability and third-party services
We aim to provide a useful and reliable service, but we do not guarantee that Silflay will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or error-free.
Silflay depends on third-party services, including app stores, authentication providers, hosting providers, email providers, subscription providers, notification services and supermarket websites or apps.
We are not responsible for third-party services, their content, their availability, their terms, their privacy practices or their decisions.
13) Intellectual property
Silflay, including the app, website, software, design, branding and related materials, belongs to Silflay Ltd or its licensors.
You may use Silflay only as allowed by these terms.
You must not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease or create derivative works from Silflay unless we give you written permission or the law allows it.
14) Suspending or ending access
We may suspend or terminate your access to Silflay if you breach these terms, misuse the service, create risk for us or others, or if we are required to do so by law.
You may stop using Silflay at any time and may delete your account through the app.
15) Disclaimers and liability
Silflay is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
We do not guarantee that product matches will be correct, that prices or offers will be accurate, that supermarket basket actions will always succeed, or that nutrition, ingredient, dietary or allergy information will be accurate.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you may have under consumer law.
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to that, Silflay Ltd will not be liable for:
- supermarket price changes, availability changes, substitutions or checkout issues;
- loss caused by relying on incorrect product, dietary, nutrition or allergy information;
- loss caused by third-party services;
- loss caused by your failure to check supermarket basket contents before checkout;
- indirect or consequential loss.
Silflay is intended for personal and household use. We are not liable for business losses.
16) Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and share personal data.
You should read the Privacy Policy before using Silflay.
17) Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post updates here and change the effective date.
For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice where appropriate.
18) Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except where consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
